1) We will take your picture. This helps us remember your names. 2) We will have a conversation about the process and our expectations. 3) In groups, we will assign you a character from sides (pages of lines) from the play to read. 4) You will have some time to practice in your groups, and then you will go on stage to perform your scene. 5) We will see if any of you can do funny interpretive dance. 6) If time allows, we will ask you to read more scenes. 7) You will be dismissed at 4:30. Please have your ride pick you up at the auditorium doors on the North side.
What will we watch and listen for?
You must speak loudly and clearly.
Enunciate and articulate.
You will be wearing masks, which makes this even more important.
If we cannot understand your words, the audience will not be able to understand your words.
Speak up and project!
Do not rush.
We will notice if you add some character to your lines. How do you think your character would speak?
If you are having fun, we will have fun and will want to see you do more.
